Halloween Pumkin Carving Afternoon

Utolsó módosítás: 2018. október 26.

„Trick or Treat” As days of All Saints Day and the Day of the Dead are approaching, the Centre for International Relations Department at Gyöngyös Károly Róbert Campus organized a Pumpkin Carving Evening for the International students on 25th of October, 2018 at 16:00.

The event was held at Károly Róbert Student Hotel's Conference Hall. In the first part of the evening, Linsey Cuen, a co-worker from the Center for International Relations in Eger, gave a presentation on Halloween's story, the origin of Jack-o-Lanters, and how to celebrate it in her homeland in America.

About the presentation the students got a funny quiz with 10 questions. Then the participants were organized into groups and the carving of the pumpkin lamps began. They painted fun and scary faces on the pumpkin, which were then carved and lit with a tealight.

After masterpieces were completed, the jury selected the winning lanterns. The third place was the Russian Girls team, the second was the Fire Lords, while the Arabs team finished first.

At the end of the evening, the pumpkins and their creators were lined up on the stairs of the Dormitory, creating a true Halloween atmosphere.
